Getting Started & My Garage6

Click Add a vehicle from My Garage, choose your state or territory, and enter the number plate. We'll look up the vehicle's specs and current market value automatically — no need to type in the make or model yourself.

On the free plan you can keep up to 3 vehicles in your garage. Need more? Upgrade to Premium from Account → Subscription for unlimited vehicles.

Double-check you've selected the right state or territory — plates are matched against that state's register. If it still doesn't return a result, reach out via Contact Klaus and we'll add it manually.

Estimated retail and trade prices come from the Klaus Valuation Model, which looks at current Australian market listings for similar vehicles. It's an estimate to give you a starting point — it isn't a formal appraisal, and actual sale prices can vary with condition, location and demand.

Yes — open a vehicle and select Share at the top of its Summary tab. This is handy if you're showing a buyer or a mechanic your service history and documents without giving them full account access.

From My Garage, click Remove on the vehicle's card, or open the vehicle and select Remove at the top of the page. This deletes it from your garage along with its stored reminders and documents, so make sure you've downloaded anything you want to keep first.

Documents & Reminders5

Registration, insurance, CTP (green slip), pink slip / safety inspection, finance, warranty, and fine/infringement documents can all be uploaded and kept in one place under the vehicle's Documents tab.

It means Klaus has automatically read and confirmed the details on the document (like renewal dates) match what's on file for your vehicle. Unverified documents just haven't been checked yet — they're still safely stored.

Registration, pink slip / safety inspection, insurance and CTP renewals, plus servicing, tyre changes, and fines. Reminders are grouped as Overdue, Urgent (within 7 days), Due Soon (within 30 days) and Upcoming.

Yes — select Add reminder on the Reminders tab. You can set it by date or by odometer reading, and edit or mark it complete at any time.

By SMS and/or email, 14 days before something is due by default (or according to your customized notification schedule). You can manage your channels and lead times under Account → Notifications.

Service & Maintenance History2

Open your vehicle's Service and Maintenance tab and select Log a service. Add the date, odometer reading, cost and provider — or upload a photo of your receipt or invoice and Klaus will read the details for you.

AI-scanned + verified means Klaus read the details from an uploaded receipt or invoice automatically. Owner-verified means you entered and confirmed the details yourself. Both count as valid service records.

Vehicle History Report (PPSR)3

It checks whether the vehicle is listed as stolen, has any write-off or total-loss history, has money owing on it (finance encumbrance), and whether there are any open manufacturer safety recalls — all matched against the VIN on your Klaus record.

It draws on the same type of government PPSR (Personal Property Securities Register) data that REVS checks used to cover before PPSR replaced state-based registers nationally.

Once your Full Summary is unlocked, select View certificate (PDF) on the vehicle's Summary tab to download it.

Ask Klaus (AI Assistant)4

Anything car-related — running costs, common issues for your specific make and model, servicing intervals, what a pink slip check covers, or finding a mechanic nearby. Klaus knows the details of the vehicles already in your garage.

No. Klaus gives you a starting point, but you should always confirm anything important with a qualified mechanic or authorised service centre before acting on it — especially for safety-related issues.

We're continually refining Klaus's answers and expanding its capabilities. Answers may occasionally need double-checking — let us know via Contact Klaus if something looks wrong.

Select Contact Klaus at the bottom of the Ask Klaus page at any time to get in touch with our team directly.

Buying a Car3

It's a concierge service — tell us your body type, fuel type and budget, and our team searches for matching vehicles on your behalf rather than you browsing listings yourself.

After submitting your preferences and finance details, our concierge team reviews available inventory and dealer networks, getting in touch within 1–2 business days with matching options.

Yes — the second step of the Buy flow covers finance preferences, and you can also use the standalone Finance calculator any time to compare loan types.

Selling a Car3

Go to Sell, pick the vehicle from your garage, tell us its condition and service history, then add your contact details. It's a 3-step form: Your Car → Selling Details → Contact.

It's not required, but a fuller history generally helps get a better outcome — you'll be asked to select how complete your service history is as part of the Sell form.

Klaus connects your vehicle with our verified network of buyers and dealerships to secure competitive offers, eliminating the hassle of dealing with unvetted private buyers.

Vehicle Finance4

Chattel Mortgage — for business/ABN use, where the lender takes a mortgage over the vehicle. Novated Lease — pay through your employer pre-tax, if they support it. Consumer Car Loan — a secured personal loan, for PAYG or self-employed buyers. Indicative rates and a repayment calculator are shown for each.

The weekly, monthly and total interest figures are estimates based on the loan amount, term, interest rate and any balloon payment you set on the calculator. Your actual rate and repayments depend on the lender's assessment of your application.

Applying takes a few minutes to complete, and our team will call you to confirm the details before anything is finalised.

Using the Klaus finance calculator and submitting an initial enquiry does not impact your credit score. A formal credit check is only conducted when you proceed with an official loan application with our lending partners.

Account, Plans & Security6

The Free plan includes up to 3 vehicles in My Garage. Premium ($9.99/month) removes that limit for unlimited vehicles.

Go to Account → Details, update the relevant field and select Save changes.

Go to Account → Security and select Enable 2FA. Once it's on, you'll need a code from your authenticator app each time you log in, in addition to your password.

Go to Account → Security and select Update next to Change password. You'll need to confirm your existing password first.

Go to Account → Notifications to control reminder alerts (SMS and email) separately from marketing emails about product updates, news and offers.

Go to Account → Details and select Delete my account in the Danger Zone. This is permanent and irreversible — once deleted, your account and all its data (vehicles, documents, service history) cannot be recovered, so download anything you need first.
